Sample itinerariesPrivate Cappadocia Tours
A 90 minute domestic flight away from Istanbul, there is Cappadocia.
And in this world, Cappadocia is unmatched in the scale, variety and depth of what it can offer to visitors.
There are different ways to visit Cappadocia, all depending on time availability.
We suggest dedicating at least 2 days/nights stay in the area since Cappadocia is not a village but a region. We cover attractions that are spread out across its valleys within a radius of 15 miles.
Below is a sample itinerary:
Day 1:
Assuming that you have things to cover in Istanbul, late afternoon flight from Istanbul to Cappadocia. Overnight in Cappadocia.
Day 2:
All day touring Cappadocia. Overnight in Cappadocia.
Day 3:
Touring Cappadocia till late afternoon. Evening flight back to Istanbul. Overnight in Istanbul.
Highlights of Cappadocia are:
* Goreme Open Air Museum,
* Goreme Town,
* Kaymakli or Derinkuyu underground cities,
* Cavusin,
* Uchisar,
* deserted cave villages,
* different valley visits.
Then, if there is time left, visits to:
* Zelve Open Air Museum,
* Avanos Town,
* Urgup Town,
and many many many picture stops.
Above names may not mean much to guests at this stage, however, these are the locations where we find the best formations of Cappadocia.
Our practice is not to design a set itinerary, since we, as your tour guides, tend to change order of visits all the time, depending on crowds and weather conditions.
The unique experience of staying in Cappadocia overnight is not in 4-5 star hotels – but in establishments offering cave rooms or traditional Cappadocian limestone structures. Some of these establishments/boutique hotels offer 5 star comfort in their rooms.

Below you will find details about the places to be visited during this tour.
Goreme Open Air Museum

The Goreme Open Air Museum contains eight Christian churches, three chapels, one refectory, one monastery and a grave site. The chapels and churches are carved into the rocks and are decorated with colourful frescos.
Goreme Town

Göreme is a town in the Cappadocia region of central Turkey. Just east of town is the Göreme Open Air Museum, with cave churches and frescoes from the 10th to 12th centuries. Southwest is Uçhisar Castle, a fortification carved into a large rock, with panoramic views from the top. To the north, the landscape at Paşabağ Valley is known for Cappadocia’s “fairy chimneys,” cone-shaped rock formations.
Kaymakli or Derinkuyu underground cities

Derinkuyu and Kaymaklı are vast multi-level underground cities in Cappadocia, carved into soft volcanic rock and used for centuries as secure refuges during invasions. Together they showcase remarkable ancient engineering, with tunnels, ventilation shafts, and living spaces that once sheltered thousands.
Cavusin

Cavusin is one of Cappadocia’s oldest settlements, known for its dramatic rock-cut homes and the historic Church of St. John the Baptist overlooking the valley. The town offers a peaceful, authentic atmosphere and easy access to nearby hiking trails like Rose and Red Valleys.
Uchisar

Uçhisar is a hilltop village crowned by Uçhisar Castle, a towering natural rock fortress offering some of the best panoramic views in Cappadocia. Its narrow lanes, cave houses, and boutique hotels create a charming atmosphere at the crossroads of the region’s major valleys
Zelve Open Air Museum

The Zelve Monastery is a Byzantine-era monastery that was carved into the rock in pre-iconoclastic times. It is part of the Zelve Open Air Museum, located between Ürgüp and Avanos, Turkey.
Urgup Town

Urgup is one of Cappadocia’s most sophisticated towns, known for its elegant stone architecture, wine-making heritage, and locally owned boutique hotels and restaurants. Its center is walkable, lively yet not overly touristy, with old Greek mansions, narrow streets, and traditional workshops that give Urgup a lived-in, authentic character.
